To walk the path of the old fencing masters of the Medieval and Renaissance? Are you enthusiastic about Historical European Martial Arts? Then you have come to the right place!

This online platform provides you professional instruction for learning Historical European Fencing with the longsword (Langschwert). In our Videos, everything you need to know in order to use and wield a longsword effectively is shown you, step-by-step. This training helps you to master sophisticated combat moves from fight-books (Fechtbuecher) written by fight-masters (Fechtmeister) of Germany. If questions arise, then you can get competent support online from one of our qualified fencing instructors.

The teacher in our videos is Sven Baumgarten of the internationally known fencing school Gladiatores. He together with the other fencers of Gladiatores present the same content and educational structure in the videos as you would get from personal training lessons at the school itself.


Is this training for me?

It does not matter if you are young or old, athletic or unathletic. We see all kind of people in our training groups. As long as you are fascinated and excited by fighting with swords, then you are able to train and learn! No previous knowledge is required. We show you basic moves as well as advanced techniques.

Historical European Fencing is indeed a martial art. Yet even if you are not really into that, then realize those who do stage combat, theatrical swordplay, and LARP have reported our training was of great value to them. And those who do Olympic fencing, classical fencing, Japanese swordsmanship or SCA are sure to gain benefit as well.


What do I need to start?

To begin your training, you need only three things:

A training sword, a training partner, and a training space.
